“I went along to the volunteering meet and greet during Freshers Week and never looked back!
My favourite event was the MAD day mural painting at Corfe School and my most rewarding event was the RAG raid in Bournemouth town centre to finish RAG week because we raised a lot of money in just a few hours.
As well as volunteering, I’m a Student Executive. I help out at the Students' Union, attending meetings and working out the best way for it to keep moving forward. As part of my role I intend to go to the National Volunteer Conference next year.
I think it’s important to volunteer as a lot of good comes from it. If people weren’t willing to give up their time for free these events wouldn’t happen.
Volunteering gives you a real sense of achievement. I’d say; just do it, you won’t regret it!”
