GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE FOR VOLUNTEERS

This procedure applies to individuals engaged in volunteering activity on behalf of the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University .

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This procedure is designed to deal with individual grievances raised by individuals in relation to their volunteering activities.  It aims to provide means by which individual grievances can be settled as quickly and as close to the point of origin as possible.

PROCEDURE

STAGE ONE:            If the volunteer has any grievance relating to his/her involvement, he/she must in the first instance take the matter up with the Volunteer Support Office.

 

STAGE TWO:           Should the issue remain unresolved, the matter shall be taken up with the General Manager of the Students’ Union.

 

STAGE THREE:         If the matter is still not settled, it may finally be referred to the President and Executive Committee of the Students’ Union in writing.

 

At each stage of the formal procedure, the volunteer may be accompanied by a fellow individual of their choice. Individuals may not be accompanied by anyone acting as a legal representative at any stage of the procedure.
