Fact: Volunteer Speed Matching is based on the idea of Speed Dating!

(What do volunteering and speed dating have in common? I hear you cry...)

Well...

Speed Dating gives you just three minutes to meet someone who might turn out to be a big part of your romantic future! Speed Matching gives you three minutes to find out about volunteering opportunities which might play a big part in your social life, community work and CV!

If you like the look of a fellow 'dater', you might meet up again (if they feel the same, that is!)... If you like the look of a volunteering opportunity, you're guaranteed a second date!

In Speed Dating, you might have to spend all night listening to sad singletons talk about themselves all night... In Speed Matching, you can spend all night talking about yourself (if you like)!

On a slightly more serious (or sane) note, Volunteer Speed Matching really does give you a fun, informal and interesting way to find out about loads of ways you can volunteer to meet new friends, learn new skills and impress future employers. Loads of local charities are coming, including Dorset Police, Streetwise, Cherries Learning Centre and Wessex Autistic Society, with opportunities including mentoring, fundraising, events planning, community liason and many more!

To take part, search and apply for Volunteering Speed 'Dater' on thehub or email Gemma at gflay@bournemouth.ac.uk for more details
